Visit us....... Support the music & have a jolly nice break!!

Lazy dayz..
We have seen a few international guests into our very intimate concerts, travelling from afar!... So thought I would take the chance to welcome your arrival, and to twist your arm to join us one day. So if you fancy a 'different' weekend away to see one of the shows, then heres why it makes sense... Well.. we all need a change of scenery now and again..
On the evenings of our concerts in Teatro Galletti, we all have a meet up with the bands in the small old jazz bar called 'Malatesta' Perhaps we'll meet you there with the bands... (We'll be the ones speaking in English!)

ALL AGES WELCOME....(In the bar also!)

Because it doesn't cost much more than your normal weekend if your clever!

NO... it doesnt, not really.. But then again, depends on what you normally do of course, but bare in mind this will be a mini break.

We recommed that you look out for one of those bargain flights from Ryanair or Easyjet.
Okay, so now your'e in Italy.
If you fly into Bergamo (Ryanair) or Malpensa (Easyjet) they have a very straight forward shuttle service at least every 30mins, to Milan Centrale train station. (Takes about 40mins and costs @ ¤8).. (Deals for larger groups at the airport).
When at Milan centrale train station, there is a train nearly every hour to Domodossola (Takes about 90 mins and costs @ ¤6 on the regional trains).. Journey on the train goes past the Lake Maggiore (V.Pretty..) This comes straight into Domodossola..no changes..and straight in the centre of the town. All on your doorstep from there.

There are two main hotels. One called 'Eurossola' www.eurossola.com and the other called 'Hotel Corona' www.coronahotel.net
Both will offer decent rates, and most likely to give discounts on bigger groups.
If you are wanting our 'mates rates' with the latter hotel (Hotel Corona), then please email me to enquire, as we are able to get discounts from that hotel.. Always good to know. We can also book on your behalf for yourselves/group.. that will simply be me@vivaossola.org !!

Food is cheaper, drinkies are cheaper, (Cappucino ¤1.20, small beer ¤2.00) Wine very good, and very reasonable also.

We are also able on 'mates rates' again to be able to book you a three course meal with a beverage for just ¤18 !! You are limited to the deals of the day, with just a few choices on each course, but all good stuff!!

Or.. just visit our good friends at 'Casa della Pizza' (Near Hotel Corona) who has simply the best pizza in town, very popular, and just the nicest people (Of course they are.. they are also music lovers!!) During the day you can have a big slice of pizza for just ¤1.50, and at night, the big full pizzas are around ¤4-5 each.. bargain!
Cant say fairer than that...!

Icecream..(Not recommended in the colder months!!)  just behind the old square is where we all have to get our icecream! Hand made, gorgeous, and big portions.. If you like chocolate, the 'Chocolato Nero' is to die for (Black/dark chocolate.. and it is almost black!).. but many many flavours all very tasty...Mmmmm

Weather... Snows occasionaly in the winter, Very hot in Summer, Autumn mild, often an extended summer.. and Spring, can be either an extended winter or early summer.. Completely random from year to year. But the weather doesnt matter.. its still a place to do absolutely nothing apart from stroll, sit, think, or day trip of course..... Just 90mins to Milan, 20mins to Switzerland, 40 Mins to the AMAZING Stresa (Lake Maggiore, with the Borremeo Islands/boat trips etc..) And in the winter 20 mins to ski (bus service.. opposite the train station) www.domobianca.it

But what ever you fancy, or need to know, then at anytime, do contact us my using the online form on the contact page, and all enquiries/questions welcome, and if you are supporting the music, then we will assist in any enquiry small or massive! .. and if you are just a spammer and going to give me links to ..rubbish,..then we wont assist!!

Look forward to your support.....

     Why....? What to do...?

  • Domodossola, a truely typical Italian pretty town, Old town square 'Piazza Mercato' THE place to do Nothing!! By day (Or night) have a cappucino, beer, fresh brioche (croissant) in one of the friendly cafés and sit... relax and take time. A great thinking spot!

  • Domodossola, EVERY Saturday Morning, hosts its traditional Market, starting in the main Piazza Mercato, and winding through its many side roads and alleys. Much to look through, and a great way to spend a Saturday morning, do a little food tasting on the fresh stalls, and try before you buy!

  • Domodossola, by night, the Piazza Mercato lights up, and becomes a cosy circle of warmth, even in those occasional winter evenings when the cottonball flakes of snow arrive.

  • Domodossola new town... Where you can shop, both with chain names, whilst still keeping the local Italian family run smaller shops aswell. Stock up on your cheese and salami selections, local wine, or shop for a new wardrobe!

  • Domodossola Train station. The centre point, large building at the base/entry of the town. The station has regular trains to/from Switzerland (Brig, the first point in Switzerland just 20 min away, with regular daily timetable). Regular trains also to/from Milan Centrale, 90 min journey)which also stop at the lakes (Verbania, 30 mins & Stresa 40 mins distance by train)
  • Eating.. Many local restaurants located around the town, all very friendly and mostly family run. All reasonably priced, and all serving pasta for your starter!! Of course..! Drinking, or for your night out/night cap... Not really the place for clubbing!! but more of a quiet drink. Yes, the chilled factor back in play, and the slower pace of life will need to be admired!...
